Sponsor an Inmate

You can help an inmate come heart to heart with the love of God by financially sponsoring him or her for the Kairos 3 day weekend. It costs approximately $125 per inmate, or $750 per table family. Families, reunion groups, and Sunday school classes can help sponsor an inmate into a new life – one based on Christ.

Mail your contributions to:

Be sure to put in the Memo section on your check which institution/program you wish your contribution to be credited with, and...

THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOU!

Message from Lauren Wiebe, President of the  KPMI International Council

Preparations are underway for the elections that will take place at the Kairos Winter Meeting. The Governance Committee has validated the IC representation for each State Chapter and International Affiliate as specified in the By-Laws. This was done based on the information filed with the International Office of KPMI.

I have attached the validation file listing the number of IC Representatives per State and International Affiliate. This was derived from the Active Site list, also attached.

In general, the ministry has grown by a total of 13 Advisory Councils as follows:

December 2010: 260.5 Kairos Inside-Men, 56.5 Kairos Inside-Women, 75 Kairos Outside, and 22 Kairos Torch

December 2011: 266 Kairos Inside-Men, 58 Kairos Inside-Women, 77 Kairos Outside, and 26 Kairos Torch

As you may recall, each State Chapter and International Affiliate is authorized to have one IC Representative for each 15 ministries. According to the By-Laws, we count each "...Kairos Inside, Kairos Outside, or Kairos Torch Advisory Council that has presented at least one Weekend in the previous eighteen (18) months..."

In the past year, North Carolina has grown to 16 Ministry Elements and therefore is entitled to two IC representatives.

At this point, we have received notification of the results of the states’ elections and believe that we have an accurate list of who represents which ministry element. We ask that you review all three files and if you find any inaccuracies, please contact Ann Kreller ASAP at the KPMI office with corrections at ann@kpmi.org.

As you may recall, the bylaws specify that “…At-Large members shall be elected by the International Council to achieve a distribution of representation proportional to the total number of Program Elements. A Program Element is defined as a Kairos Inside Men, Kairos Inside Women, Kairos Outside, or Kairos Torch Advisory Council...”

Based on the preliminary distribution of elected and At-Large members whose term has not expired, we believe that we will need to elect 5 new At-Large Kairos Inside Men (KIM) and 2 new Kairos Inside Women (KIW) representatives in order to achieve the appropriate balance. We do not expect that the final distribution after you verify the attached files will significantly change these needs.

We are asking that you canvass your organization, encourage nominations, and that you prayerfully submit the profile (blank one attached) for those KIM and KIW that you believe would be good additions to the International Council.

As a result of a change this year, the candidate can fill out the attached profile or you can fill it out for someone if they have agreed to be nominated. THE PROFILES AND RECOMMENDATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY JANUARY 2. Sooner is better. Mail the completed profiles and the recommendations to KPMINominations@gmail.com. It is a blessing to serve you. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Lauren Wiebe
President, KPMI International Council
